![]() ![]() Through this poem, Wordsworth seems to suggest that his life before was clouded and misguided until he saw his rainbow and found greatness in the springing life of nature. The acknowledgement of the rainbow is also now suggesting a renewed life. He acknowledges this and uses this idea in his next line stating “so was it when my life began”. Rainbows also usually appear after rainfall or a storm. Rainbows are generally a symbol of intertwining peace and beauty. The “so”s within his poem show that everything was a chain reaction and everything fell into place from that single moment of his heart leaping up after witnessing the rainbow. He appears to bring a different revelation of the rainbow, and a different connection between the rainbow and himself. Wordsworth goes beyond simply writing that the beauty of nature has changed his life. He even goes to state that he is now a complete man after realizing such wonder from nature. ![]() It is nature that pleases Wordsworth, and the rainbow specifically brings up so much joy that his heart leaps up.
